Artist Statement

I am a pianist, composer, teacher, and passionate follower of Jesus Christ. Every time I sit at the piano, and in every composition session, my goal is to create music that is beautiful. After the example of Paul the Apostle, I use music in the same way that he used the “idol to the unknown god.” – I use the beauty of music to build a bridge in order to share about the love and beauty of Jesus with my friends, students, and audiences.

*Around 50 AD, Paul the Apostle gave a sermon on Mars Hill in Athens, and he started with these words: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.” Paul would go on to use this altar/idol as a bridge and link that allowed him to share with the people of Athens the good news of the one true God, Jesus Christ, and His resurrection.

A real piece of art is a window into the transcendent.
